Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bunagana border from Uganda.
On the first day of the safari from Uganda to Democratic Republic of Congo, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will meet you at the Bunagana border to where he will brief you about the 2 days safari, and after the briefing you will embark on your journey and cross into the Democratic Republic of Congo, you will have the spectacular views along the way, when you go deep in DRC, the scenery shifts to reveal the stunning vistas of Lake Kivu, with its clear waters and picturesque fishing villages that offers you unforgettable adventure of the region. And once you arrive you will be transferred to your camp and check in your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will be transferred by your safari guide and joining other guests to Jomba community and walk through the community lands and identify how the locals spend their days.
You will participate in the traditional with the locals in the different activities like cooking, farming, crafting and gaining insight into the community’s customs, traditions and daily life. The experience provides a genuine opportunity to learn, share and build meaningful relationships with the Jomba people that leaves you with the unforgettable memories and appreciation with the culture. After the experience you will be transferred to your camp for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and depart.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning, enjoy your wake breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from your camp with the packed lunch. You will meet your safari guide and transfer to Jomba ranger Post and receive a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. You will hire the like porters if you can, after the briefing you will be transferred to the forest of Virunga. Gorilla trekking takes a period from 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, because they do move from various areas looking for food.
And along the way looking for the gorillas you will be fascinated with the unique sightings of various biodiversity in the forest, and once the gorillas are located you will be given a period of one hour to be in the location of the that is watching the gorillas feed, breastfeed, female gorillas grooming their young ones, watching the gorillas play. After the experience you will trek back to the starting to where you will receive the gorilla trekking certificates for taking back in gorilla trekking. And later you will transfer back to Bunagana border and embark on your journey back to Uganda, and later you will be transferred back to your convenient place that will make your Congo safari come to the end.
