Kenya is a land of the endless wonders, where your journey begins in the bustling ‘’Green City in the Sun’’ and leads you through the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuaries. This 10-day safari is specially designed for families, couples and photography enthusiasts who want a comprehensive look at Kenya’s ‘’Big five,’’ rare rhinos and majestic elephants. From the heart of Nairobi to the golden plains of the Masai Mara, every day is a new chapter in your African story.
Day 1: Arrival.
Your African Vacation Safaris guide will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and welcome you for the safari and then later he will transfer you to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe centre experience in Nairobi.
After breakfast you will spend the day getting up close with Nairobi’s most loved animals. You will visit Nairobi National Park in the morning to search for the animals in the park that is close to the city, including lions, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes and others, later you will be transferred to Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage that is inside the park at around 11:00am to see the rescued baby elephants during their midday mud bath and feeding.
After the experience you will enjoy lunch, after lunch you will head the giraffe centre to feed the rare Rothschild giraffes from a raised platform and conclude the day visiting Karen Blixen Museum or Kazuri Beads workshop. Return to your hotel for dinner, overnight stay.
Day 3: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park.
Wake up, check out after breakfast, drive to Amboseli National Park that takes you approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival check in and enjoy lunch. After lunch return to the park to spot the incredible animal and bird species in the park with the wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Later return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full day in Amboseli National Park.
After breakfast, you will have the whole day visiting the famous Amboseli while exploring the swamps and then the dusty plains of this unique park. You will start the day with a morning game drive when the mountain is usually most visible, as well as visit ‘’Observation Hill’’ for a bird’s eye view of the elephants bathing in the marshes below. You will drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch visit the park for a second game drive or optional Maasai cultural tours. Drive to the lodge for lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park.
After breakfast, check out drive through the Great Rift valley, stopping for photos at the escarpment view point. Upon arrival enjoy lunch, after lunch, enjoy afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park to track the endangered white and black rhinos and searching for more other wildlife, optional an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Nakuru. Drive to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha.
Wake up, after breakfast, check out and with a short scenic drive brings you to the freshwater shores of Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival check in and enjoy lunch. After lunch you will have a boat safari to see hundreds of bird species and then families of hippos in water and among many others. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 7: Crescent island walking safari around Lake Naivasha.
Enjoy breakfast, after at around 9:00am you will have the boat transfer to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, and have a guided walking safari among giraffes, waterbucks, zebras and others, there are no predators on the island so it is safe and peaceful. Later return to your lodge for leisure, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and transfer to Masai Mara you will have the scenic drive until you reach the serve. Once you arrive you will enjoy lunch. After lunch begin your first game drive to search for the big five mammals (lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard) and many more. Drive back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 9: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve.
After breakfast you will have a full day to the vast plains of Mara, during the day you will have a picnic lunch under the acacia tree, as well as visiting the Mara River to see where the great Migration crossings take place. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure.
After breakfast, check out and start on your journey back to Nairobi with en-route game drive in the morning to search for the early risers of the reserve that offers you the best experience. Drive until you arrive Nairobi with en-route lunch, after lunch you will be dropped to your preferred place either at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight back home or your hotel in Nairobi that will bring your safari come to the end.
