Detailed itinerary of 12 Day Kenya and Zanzibar adventure for couples
Day 1: Arrival and Giraffe center
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your African Vacation Safaris Driver-Guide and head to your hotel in Nairobi. In the afternoon you will go for a visit to the Giraffe Center where you will get a chance to feed the giraffes and have a guided walk among them. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara
Depart Nairobi in the morning after breakfast and drive through the scenic Rift Valley, have a stop at the view point to enjoy scenic views of the escarpments and continue to the reserve arriving in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in. Later in the day, you will go for a game drive offering you high chances of spotting lions, elephants, wildebeests, cheetahs, rhinos, zebras and many other animals when they are more active. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3,4: Full day in Maasai Mara
These two days are dedicated to exploring Maasai Mara National Reserve on morning and afternoon game drives when animals are more active. During the full days of adventure in the endless plains of Maasai Mara, you will enjoy picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites along Mara River. There is an option of having lunch at your lodge.
Expect to see a variety of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, white and black rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas, wild dogs and several bird species. After sunset, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Arusha then Zanzibar
After breakfast, you will embark on an en-route game drive through the Masai Plains as you depart for Nairobi. Your guide will drop you off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to Arusha Airport, here you will connect for your flight to Zanzibar.
You will be welcomed by your African Vacation Safaris Driver and transfer you to your hotel in Stone Town.
Day 6-11: Zanzibar
These 6 Days are dedicated to enjoying the beauty of Zanzibar, a tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean. Discover its pristine white sandy beaches, turquois waters and vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life.
- Immerse yourself in the rich culture heritage of the Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its ancient architecture and bustling markets. Visit some of the town’s iconic sites such as the Sultan’s House, House of Wonders, the Old Dispensary, the Slave Market among others. Indulge in the tantalizing flavors of Zanzibar Cuisine, a fusion of African, Arab and Indian Influences. Experience the warmth and hospitality of the Swahili people as they share their fascinating traditions and stories.
- Enjoy Safari Blue Sea Adventure, head to Fumba Fishing Village to enjoy a full day safari blue experience by sailing dhow to Kwale Island where you will spend go sailing, snorkeling and swimming/blue clear sea water at the serene atmosphere of the Indian Ocean. Later enjoy a delicious seafood and barbecue lunch served at the pearly white sandbank as you relax and interact with fellow visitors.
- Spend a day of relaxation at your resort, enjoy some of the complimentary activities offered by the hotel or go for some other activities such as swimming with the dolphins and a walk on the sand beaches.
- Go a dhow sunset cruise on the Indian Ocean – sit back, relax and sink into the soft pillows decorating the dhow taking you on a gentle cruise along the Unguja Coast and around Stone Town. While a setting sun turns the sky into magnificent red and golden colors, enjoy a variety of wines, beers, cocktails and sodas while listening to traditional taraab music performed by live musicians. This a perfect end to a day of exploration or for newlyweds.
- Swim with turtles at Baraka Natural Aquarium – home to endangered sea turtles and a variety of fish. The aquarium itself is a natural formation carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The depth of water rises and falls with the tides providing a natural environment for its inhabitants. Use this opportunity to swim with the sea turtles, feed them sea weed and enjoy some time in the water.
Day 12: Departure
