3 Days Waterberg Hiking Trail Tour : Join us for a 3-Day Tour that features a Hiking Trail, where you will camp at the Waterberg Resort Campsite on the northern side of Namibia. Experience the captivating geological site, including 200-million-year-old dinosaur footprints and petrified dunes.
Over the course of these three days, clients will engage in hiking across the landscapes and trekking with rhinos on foot. This tour requires participants to be in good physical condition and capable of walking around 4km to 6km each day.
Itinerary
Day 1: Waterberg Resort Campsite, Waterberg Plateau National Park
Your Safari Guide will greet you before you set off for the Waterberg Plateau Park. The Waterberg region presents stunning vistas and an unforgettable adventure. In the afternoon, you will arrive at the Waterberg Resort Campsite, where you will check in. Following this, you will embark on an afternoon game drive lasting 2-3 hours before returning to the campsite for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Waterberg Resort Campsite, Waterberg Plateau National Park
Following an early breakfast, you will embark on a morning plateau hike lasting 2-3 hours, accompanied by your hiking guide as you ascend the plateau, which rises approximately 150 meters above the plains. He provides an explanation of the plants and animals in the park, offering you a glimpse into the daily life and culture of the Herero people residing in this region.
Amazing view of the valley or the plains of the Kalahari, along with an afternoon nature trail where you can explore the valley of the nature reserve “Botanical Garden.” You will enjoy a meal beneath the stars, embracing the romance of the fire as the night’s wildlife calls gradually fade, inducing you into sleep.
Day 3: Waterberg Resort Campsite, Waterberg Plateau National Park
The melodic calls of the birds will gently rouse you at the break of dawn. You will dismantle the camp and enjoy breakfast before setting out on foot into the reserve. Even with the harsh conditions of the area, it remains abundant in diverse wildlife, particularly near the watering holes (3-4 hours).
Today, we aim to track the Rhinos on foot, emulating the methods of the Bushmen. With the assistance of your tracker, you will navigate through our nature reserve at the base of the Waterberg, where you can observe wildlife including oryx, red hartebeest, kudu, and giraffe. You may even encounter a rhino as the trail guides you along the mountain ridges of our established base camp. Upon your return from the walk, you will indulge in a well-deserved hot shower at the bush camp. After checking out, you will begin your drive back to Namibia’s capital city, arriving around midday. Your safari ends here.
