Detailed Itinerary of 9-Day Namibia to Victoria Falls Overland
Day 1: Etosha National Park – Namibia
Your Namibia to Victoria Falls Overland safari commences in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, where you will be collected from the airport or hotel and transfer to Etosha National Park. The drive is approximately 4 hours.
Etosha National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa, spanning 22,270 square kilometers. The park’s name aptly translates to “Great White Place”, referring to the vast Etosha Pan which sits in the center, a salt pan visible even from space.
On arrival, you will enjoy lunch after check in and familiarize yourself with the camp as well as fellow travelers. Then we head out on afternoon game drive, lookout for several animals including several threatened endangered species such as black rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes, ostriches among others.
Enjoy a spectacular Namibian sunset before settling into your camp for night.

Day 2: Etosha National Park to Divundu – Namibia
Enjoy a morning game drive through Etosha National Park as we bid the arid landscapes farewell and head northeast to the verdant lands surrounding the Kavango River, where waters from the Angolan highlands flow on their journey through Namibia before emptying into the Okavango Delta in neighboring Botswana. Our destination in Divundu lies on the banks of the Kavango River, a vital life-source in this region attracting a wealth of wildlife to its banks, its waters teeming with crocodiles and hippos.

Day 3: Divundu to Maun – Botswana
Today, we take a morning cruise on the Kavango River, gliding through pods of hippos and crocodiles, and watching animals gathering on the riverbanks to drink. We then continue our journey following the Kavango River towards the Botswana border. After border formalities are complete, we head through the Delta landscapes towards the town of Maun where we will spend the night.
Arriving in Maun, you have the chance to take an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (weather and time permitting). The flight offers the chance to get a unique aerial perspective of this great natural wonder- a river delta flowing into a dry, dusty desert and teeming with wildlife.

Day 4: Khwai Conservation Area (Okavango Delta)
After breakfast, we leave the safari truck behind and head out with a smaller overnight bag for 2-night trip into the delta region on the smaller 4×4 safari vehicles. We will spend the next nights in a tented camp in the Khwai Conservation Area of the Delta, located between renowned Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. This area is known for its excellent game viewing throughout the year, with lunch we will see plenty of wildlife as we drive.
After settling into camp, we head out to a polers’ station about an hour from the lodge. Local guides will paddle us out into the Delta waterways in traditional-style mekoros (dug-out canoes). The guides have an intimate knowledge of the reed-lined channels and tranquil lagoons dotted with lilypads and host to a great variety of animals. Get a close-up look at the unique flora and fauna of the Okavango Delta as we glide slowly and quietly. You are able to take a natural walk on one of the islands, a chance to learn about the fascinating plants and smaller creatures encountered.

Day 5: Moremi National Park (Okavango Delta)
Today we take a full day safari drive through the north-eastern part of the Okavango Delta in Moremi National Park. The natural beauty of Moremi is the quintessential Okavango Delta experience, with meandering waterways and lagoons and papyrus swamps dotted with palm-fringed islands and open grassland.
It is lush and verdant as the seasonal waters transform the delta, supporting a prolific wildlife population and over 1,000 plant species, making it a vibrant hotspot for biodiversity. Hippos and crocodiles wallow in the waters, and during our safari driver you may spot the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, buffaloes and rhinoceros, as well as numerous other species including cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, various species of antelopes and a rich variety of birdlife.
Moremi National Park is particularly famous for its leopards and endangered wild dogs.

Day 6: Khwai to Nata – Botswana
Today we depart back through the Delta landscapes to join our truck in Maun. Then, we hit the road again, arid plains interrupted only by the occasional acacia tree towards the expansive Makgadikgadi Salt Pans where the surreal scenery feels as if you have stepped onto another planet.
Overnight at a lodge in the palm trees fringe of Nata Pan, one of the salt pans which receives seasonal water from the Nata River. During the wet season the area is a haven for migratory birds.
After settling into the lodge, we will head out for an afternoon drive around Nata Pan. Depending on the time of your trip, you may catch sight of seasonal flamingoes painting a splash of pink against the monochrome palette of the pans.

Day 7: Nata to Kasane & Chobe National Park – Botswana
Today we leave the pans and head north towards the more lush catchment areas of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. We arrive in Kasane by lunch time and settle into our lodge on the banks of the Chobe River.
After a delicious lunch, we head up the river to enjoy the wildlife of the Chobe from the water. The area is known for its numbers of elephants, we are sure to have great views as they come down the riverbanks to bathe and drink.

Day 8: Kasane to Victoria Falls
We bid farewell to Botswana as we head to the border crossing on overland tour, into Zimbabwe. Entering Zimbabwe this morning we drive to Victoria Falls Town – home to the largest waterfall in the world.
Victoria Falls a UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most unforgettable natural spectacles in Africa, an absolute must-see. Today you have free time to visit the falls and experience the “Smoke that Thunders” as translated from the local name, Mosi – oa-Tunya, feel the roar of the river and stroll through the rainforest created by the resulting spray. In addition to visiting the spectacular Victoria Falls, you can jump straight into one of the thrilling adventurous activities this afternoon or just rest. Overnight at a riverside lodge, located on the banks of the Zambezi River on the outskirts of the Zambezi National Park.

Day 9: Victoria Falls
Today is the last day of your Namibia to Victoria Falls Overland Tour, after breakfast we head to Victoria Falls to participate in optional adventure activities. This part of the Zambezi River is famous for offering some of the best whitewater rafting in the world, an unforgettable experience. Other adventures include helicopter and microlights flights over Victoria Falls, zip-line rides, trips to Livingstone Island and swimming in Devil’s Pool.
Later you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
