Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda’s largest and most popular national park, located in the country’s northwest. The park spans 505 square miles of rainforest and is surrounded by five volcanoes in the Virunga mountains: Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabinyo. Additionally, there are two active volcanoes, Mauna loa and Kilavea, which are 25 miles apart. Rwanda offers a variety of parks, including Nyungwe and Akagera, each with unique attractions. Despite its tiny size, tourism is Rwanda’s fastest growing and most important industry. The park offers a variety of hotels, including budget, midrange, and luxury options that are handy and inexpensive for all tourist budgets. The lodge was designed specifically for guests visiting the area.
