Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park for canopy walk experience.
On the first day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport. He will welcome you and brief you about the 2 days safari and the briefing you will then embark on your journey to Nyungwe Forest national Park with the magnificent views along the way, you will have a stopover at the former Kings Palace and then with the en-route lunch. And after taking your lunch you will proceed with your journey to the park with the perfect views of the beautiful landscapes, rolling hills and among many others.
And once you arrive, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing about the canopy walk experience. After the briefing you will start your adventurous canopy walk tour and the activity starts at Uwinka Visitors Centre, during the experience you will have the best experience with the views of the various bird species, primates, animal as you enjoy the aerial view of the entire forest, tree tops, and many others. After the experience of the canopy walk you will be transferred to your lodge and check in for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Departure.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast. After the breakfast you will check out from your lodge with your packed lunch and meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing.
After the briefing you will be grouped in different groups with each group having 6 members. After you will be transferred into the forest to allocate a chimpanzee family with the presence of an experienced park guide who is knowledgeable about the chimpanzee trekking trails. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest national park takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the where the chimpanzees are located because these creatures like to move from one place to another in search of food.
During chimpanzee trekking you will be impressed with the perfect views of different bird species, and among many other primate species, plant and tree species and among many others. And once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat which gives you the opportunity to learn more about their habits, behaviours, taking pictures, watching them carrying out their daily activities and record the incredible moments to show people back home.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will meet up with your driver guide and then transfer back to Kigali. And once you arrive, your safari guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your flight back home or you will be dropped at your hotel in Kigali that will make your safari come to the end.
