Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema.
On the 1st day of your safari, you will be met by your guide a representative of our tour company, he will met you either at Kigali International Airport or at your hotel in Kigali, he will welcome you to Rwanda the land of a 1000 hills that is you will be transferred to Akagera National park, after being given to you a briefing about the 4 days safari. You will proceed with your journey with the perfect views along the way including the various attractions like the tea plantations, coffee plantations, along the way you will have a stopover and enjoy lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Akagera national park that will offer you a lot during the 4 days safari.
Upon your arrival you will be transferred for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema in Akagera national park to where you will get to spot various wildlife like crocodiles, hippopotamuses and you will spot the diverse colourful bird species like the endangered shoebills stork, cormorants, spoonbills, African kingfishers and among others as you watch the sunset that is such incredible. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon game drive.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After enjoying your breakfast your safari guide will pick you and transfer you to Akagera National Park and participate in the early morning game drives and this is where you will spot the early risers like zebras, buffaloes, rhinos, impalas, elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards and others as they are catching prey for their morning meal, as well you will experience the best spots in the park. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge and enjoy lunch.
After lunch you will be transferred back to the park for the more game driving safari experience, and this is the period where you will spot the various animal species that you missed spotting during the morning game drive. You will explore various spots like Mutumba Hills, Birengero sector, Muyumbu trail and spot various animal species like giraffes, hyenas, bushbucks, duikers, monkeys, antelopes and among others. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and cultural tours.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast, after your safari guide will pick you and transfer to Akagera national park for another morning game drive that is where you will spot more numbers of the big five mammals like rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, lions and leopards and others like zebras, topis, impalas, and various attractions in the park. Later after the experience you will be transferred back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Humure Refugee village, this offers a unique and enriching experience that allows visitors to explore the lives and the traditions of a refugee community. The tour provides a rare opportunity to interact with the residents, learn about their history, culture and then the daily struggles and this is where you will gain information about the challenges and resilience of the refugee communities. Then the visitors can participate in the traditional activities like basket weaving, farming, cooking and support local artisans by purchasing handmade crafts. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Kigali city tour and departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast. After taking breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and transfer back to Kigali for the Kigali city tour, as this is a fascinating exploration of Rwanda’s vibrant capital city, you will visit Kigali Genocide memorial center, a poignant tribute to the 1994 genocide victims, presidential palace museum that shows Rwanda’s history and presidential artifacts, exploring Kandt House Museum a historic house-turned-museum honoring Rwanda’s colonial past, Kimironko market where you can experience local culture and shop for the handicrafts and among others. After the experience you will be transferred to the restaurant and enjoy your lunch. After lunch you will be dropped at your preferred location that is either at your hotel in Kigali or dropped at Kigali International Airport for your next flight back home that will make your safari back home.
