Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Ruhengeri.
On the first day of the safari your safari guide for your safari representative of our company will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or from your hotel in Kigali city. Your safari guide will welcome you and give you a briefing about the safari. After the briefing you will be transferred to Ruhengeri to your hotel for lunch and then relaxation. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and engage in the community walks that’s is when you will see the Rwandese carrying out their daily activities, through visiting the surrounding number of the tea plantations and then see them doing their farming and very many other activities that is such as exceptional. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: First Gorilla trekking.
On the 2nd day of the safari, you will wake up early in the morning and enjoy the hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide together with your packed lunch and go for the gorilla trekking experience. You will be transferred to the park headquarters to the Kinigi reception area where you will receive the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking at 7:00am. After the briefing you will then be transferred to hike the Virunga Mountain to look for the mountain gorillas with the experienced guides and rangers. Gorilla trekking takes from about 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillasbecasue these creatures do move around looking for the food.
During mountain gorilla trekking you will be attracted by the various attractions like the various bird species like African Rwenzori, double collared sunbird, Ruwenzori turaco, eagle handsome Francolin, and others, and you will spot other primates like red tailed monkeys, silver monkeys and among many others, you will spot various plant species, tree species and among others. And when you find the mountain gorillas you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas that is watching the gorillas feeding, female gorillas grooming their young ones, and among others, like taking their pictures and recording their videos. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be rewarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Second Gorilla trekking.
On the 3rd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide with your packed lunch and go for the second gorilla trekking experience, to have the wonderful time during the activity here you will be first transferred to park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during the gorilla trekking by the park guides and park rangers.
After the briefing you will explore the forest to look for the mountain gorillas, with the diverse biodiversity along the way makes your safari spicy. And once you find the gorillas you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas, that is watching the gorillas play, watching the gorillas making their nests of next night, watching the gorillas breast feed, watching the female gorillas grooming their young ones, taking their videos and recording their movies. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting part to where you will be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali for a city tour.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast, after breakfast check out from your lodge and your safari guide will transfer you to Kigali for city tour. Along the way you will have the impressive views of the beautiful landscape. And once you arrive you will enjoy your lunch from any of the restaurant in Kigali, and later you will enjoy the Kigali city tour to where you will explore Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum, as this is where you will understand more about the past period of the Rwanda genocide, you will also visit Kimironko market which is Rwanda’s largest market to where you will purchase fresh fruits, interacting with the local market vendors and among many others. After the experience you will be dropped either at Kigali International Airport or to your hotel in Kigali that will make your safari come to the end.
