Day 1: Kigali city tour, transfer to Ruhengeri and then Volcanoes National park.

Day 1: Kigali city tour, transfer to Ruhengeri and then Volcanoes National park.
On the 1st day of the safari, your safari representative from African Vacation Safaris will welcome you through picking you either at your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali international Airport. After you will transfer to Kigali city tour to where you will explore various attractions like Kimironko market, Gisozi genocide memorial site and among other sites. After the experience you be transferred to the restaurant and then enjoy your lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to Musanze that is close town to Volcanoes National Park that is located in the northern province of Rwanda in the evening. After you will be transferred to your lodge/hotel for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking.
On the 2nd day of the safari, you will wake up early in the morning and enjoy the hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide together with your packed lunch and go for the gorilla trekking experience. You will be transferred to the park headquarters to the Kinigi reception area where you will receive the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking at 7:00am. After the briefing you will then be transferred to hike the Virunga Mountain to look for the mountain gorillas with the experienced guides and rangers. Gorilla trekking takes from about 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillasbecasue these creatures do move around looking for the food.
During mountain gorilla trekking you will be attracted by the various attractions like the various bird species like African Rwenzori, double collared sunbird, Ruwenzori turaco, eagle handsome Francolin, and others, and you will spot other primates like red tailed monkeys, silver monkeys and among many others, you will spot various plant species, tree species and among others. And when you find the mountain gorillas you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas that is watching the gorillas feeding, female gorillas grooming their young ones, and among others, like taking their pictures and recording their videos. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be rewarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Dian Fossey hiking or golden monkey trekking.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy delicious breakfast and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters and this is when you will receive the Dian Fossey trekking at Karisoke Research Center or optional with golden monkey trekking. The Dian Fossey trek is adventurous experience that takes you to the grave site of the renowned American zoologist, Dain Fossey that dedicated her life to studying and protecting mountain gorillas. As you hike through the lush rainforest, you will learn about the Fossey’s remarkable life, her tireless advocacy for gorilla conservation and the tragic circumstances of her death. The trek culminated at Fossey’s grave site, where you will pay tribute to her legacy and witness the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, a fitting tribute to her enduring impact on gorilla conservation that’s takes and lasts 6 to 7 hours whereas Golden monkey trekking that will take you 3 to 4 hours.
After the experience you will return back to the lodge and then have lunch and after lunch you will spend time to the lodge and if you decide to do golden monkey trekking then you will return early enough and then transfer to Gisenyi to experience Lake Kivu and then enjoy your evening time at Lake Kivu that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and natural beauty that gives you the best opportunities to do boat cruises, swimming, fishing, then exploring nearby villages and then the tea plantations. After the experience you will be transferred to Musanze for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then get ready to transfer to Kigali, along the way you will be offered magnificent views until you reach the city. And once you arrive you will have lunch, and after lunch you will be dropped either at Kigali International Airport or at your hotel in Kigali that will make your safari come to the end.
