Day1: Kigali-Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park with the en-route stop to the Rwanda genocide memorial. Here, you will learn the A-Z of the 1994 genocide that claimed over 800,000 lives. Next, you will visit the local market to mix and mingle with locals as you discover intriguing aspects about their traditional ways of life. In the evening, you will visit Rwanda cultural sites in Ruhengeri after settling down in your hotel. Prepare to be blown away by enthusiastic Rwandese dances whose elegant choreography is inspired by the gracefulness of the long horned indigenous species of cows.

Day2: Rwanda Gorilla Trek-Visit the Twin Lakes
After you breakfast, and transfer to Volcanoes National Park and upon your arrival at this park around 08.am attend the golden monkey trekking briefing and the forest as well. After enter into the rain forest to search for the enthusiastic primates gorillas in the mist. This is a lovely warm, humid and quiet jungle that is over 25,000 years old. It has lots of beautiful mountain scenery, forest waterfalls, trees with fascinating shapes. It is really a paradise for anyone who loves nature and wild life, especially primates.
After your encounter with the monkeys, return to the park headquarters to pick your Rwanda golden monkey trekking certificate.
Day3: Visit Dian Fossey-Rwanda Cultural Sites
Have breakfast, and after trek to the Dian Fossey center, where she was buried next to her favourite gorilla, Digit. If you are very unfit, you might find the first hour taxing as it entails going uphill. Luckily, the next section, though muddy and fairly slippery is easier. There is not a whole lot to see as the camp site where Diann Fossey used to stay. However, you won’t be bored for a minute as the tour is led by a guide who is so good at storytelling. Using just words, he can paint a captivating picture of what Fossey’s stay here was like. Thanks to the areas location on a higher elevation, brace yourself for jaw dropping views of surrounding indigenous species of trees.
Return to lodge for refreshment and lunch and then in the evening visit to the Rwanda cultural sites and shops some of the local Rwanda crafts and arts. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B
Day4: Relaxation at Lake Kivu and return to Kigali later in the day
In the evening, you visit Lake Kivu. You can’t miss a canoeing experience in the shallows of the serene lake, especially at sunset when the weather is much cooler. It offers a perfect beginning to the end of your day. Besides, this sightseeing tour is a first class ticket for you to see how lives of locals in Rwanda and Congo unfolds. This is thanks to the lakes location at a valley in the western arm of the rift valley where both countries intersect.
