Jabulani, named after the first elephant, a four-month-old injured and abandoned calf saved by the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, was established as a safe haven and sanctuary for a number of healed, human-raised elephants who could not be reintegrated into the wild.

Jabulani, located in the Greater Kruger area, is a luxury safari destination with a distinct African design and colonial-style décor. Jabulani is extremely private, with only six suites, giving guests a really attentive, intimate experience. Families with children can stay privately in the luxurious, stand-alone Zindoga Villa.

Jabulani guests have exceptional, immersive opportunity to see the local herd in close proximity. In addition to learning about elephant behaviours, traits, and the narrative of Jabulani’s elephants, tourists can choose an Elephant Experience, which includes the opportunity to meet, touch, and feed the elephants.

Jabulani is a location to indulge all of your senses, to explore the African wilderness and reconnect with nature, to witness incredible wildlife, and to eat delicious food. Your professional Jabulani ranger will make sure that your safari experience is tailored to your specific preferences, whether you prefer a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere or a full day of game viewing and activities. Learn about our incredible adventure, which began with the rescue of a herd of elephants nearly two decades ago. Our dedicated elephant carers share insightful stories about their life journeys with the Jabulani herd, and you can respectfully observe the elephants during their daily routines, such as their midday swim, foraging in the wild, and returning single file to their stables in the evenings.
