Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On your first 1st day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris, will pick you from Arusha Airport or from your hotel in Arusha. He will welcome you and brief you about the 2 days Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara safari. After the briefing you will proceed with journey to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with the wonderful views along the way you will drive to Karatu region towards the Ngorongoro area, and once you arrive the area, you will enjoy your picnic lunch at one of the attractive picnic areas in the wilderness with the endless views of the beautiful landscape.
After lunch, you will go for the afternoon to the descending point of the crater with brief stop at the viewpoint of the crater. The crater is a home to the vast variety of the diverse number of the animals like the rare rhinos, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, wildebeests and among many others. The Crater is a home of the large number of the predators in the crater like the hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, leopards, lions and among many others. It’s known that the crater has the record on the large population of the lions that are found in the crater. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and then the overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park.
On the final day of the safari, get up early in the morning and enjoy the hearty breakfast. After breakfast check out from your lodge together with your packed lunch and meet your safari guide. You will begin your journey to Lake Manyara National park, you will embark on a scenic journey that takes you through the verdant forests, bustling towns of Northern Tanzania. The drive begins by ascending the crater highlands, offering stunning views of the Ngorongoro crater’s rim and the surrounding landscapes. As you continue towards north, the road winds its way through the picturesque town of Karatu, with the vibrant markets and colourful buildings, before entering the scenic countryside, where you will pass through the villages and farmland, with the majestic Rift Valley escarpments rising up in the distance. The landscape flattens out as you approach Lake Manyara, with the lake’s shimmering waters and surrounding forests coming into view, offering of sighting of the incredible natural beauty of wildlife.
And once you arrive the park you will engage yourself in the game driving experience, where you look for the tree climbing lions, giraffes, Baboons, buffaloes, leopards, and among others, as well you will spot the diverse numbers of the colourful water bird species especially the Flamingos, that can be spotted along the shores of the Lake Manyara, that’s particularly in the park’s southern and then the western regions, where the alkaline waters and shallow shores provide a perfect habitat for these iconic pink birds. After the game drive you will be transferred back to Arusha to catch up with next flight back home or simply be dropped at your hotel in Arusha in the evening that will make your safari come to the end.
