Aardvark Safari Lodge is a newly built mid-range lodging located in Rubirizi, 14 miles from Kyambura Game Reserve in Queen Elizabeth National Park, near Katunguru Bridge, in western Uganda. Located just 4 kilometers from Kasese Town on the Mbarara Highway in Uganda, this area is home to a diverse range of wildlife and birds.
The lodge is ideal for a Uganda safari experience and leisure since it is in the ideal location for visitors and travelers who wish to explore and discover the park’s breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, and nearby locations. The camp is a 5- to 6-hour (370 km) drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, followed by an hour’s flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese Airport and a short transport to the lodge.
Aardvark Safari Lodge offers 6 spacious and comfortable cottages with stunning views of the park. The cottages are built in an African traditional style with grass thatched roofs and high levels of comfort. Each cottage is well-furnished and raised to match guests’ specific preferences, including mosquito nets, bathrooms with hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free toiletries, chairs and wooden tables, complimentary bottled water, slippers in the room, and more.
Each cottage features spacious living areas, terraces, and private balconies with magnificent views of the park, Rwenzori Mountain ranges, and neighboring locations. The cottages contain great and comfy bedding, including king-sized beds. There is a campfire pit where guests may relax while sharing stories/experiences from the safari; it also provides warmth during colder weather. The lodge provides single and double/twin beds, as well as family/group accommodations, with prices starting at $200 per night per person. Peak season prices are slightly more than low season rates. The eating room overlooks the park and offers a variety of delicious meals, including local and international options (à la carte menu). They serve breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner with well-trained and organized staff. Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri districts of western Uganda, near the historic town of Fort Portal (Tourism City). It is the second largest and most visited national park. The park covers a total area of 987 km². The park spans from Lake George in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest and includes the Kazinga Channel that connects the two lakes. It is Uganda’s widest canal, measuring 32 kilometers long.
Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a variety of hotels, including budget, midrange, and luxury options. The park features a diverse flora and fauna, including over 100 mammals and 612 bird species, which attracts more people. Other activities include bird watching, monkey tracking in Kyambura Gorge, and forest walks in Kalinzu or Maramagambo forests. Activities include hiking, mining at Lake Katwe, village excursions, fruit harvesting, and birding in Katara. The lodge provides a handy and economical option for travelers visiting the park. It is also the greatest site to stay and go on a game drive, as most wildlife visits the hotel.
