Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge is western Uganda’s newest luxury lodge, located in Kabarole district, 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) west of Fort Portal, near Kibale Forest National Park, which is known for its large number of primate species and offers adventurous chimp trekking and chimp habituation experiences.
Aramaga is ideally positioned, with views of Africa’s Great Rift Valley escarpment, the Toro-Semuliki wildlife reserve, the Rwenzori Mountains, and, on a clear day, the Congo’s Blue Mountains and the outline of Lake Albert. The lodge was built using solar energy and green roof technology to safeguard the environment and blend in with the natural surroundings.
Accommodation facilities at the Aramaga Rift Valley Lodge
The lodge includes six space-themed pods, including Moonshot, which is the most spacious pod with French double beds for guests with families; spaceship; galaxy; orbit; supernova; and gravity. Every pod provides visitors with space to relax, enjoy fantastic views from the comfort of their beds, and a private rooftop tab for up to two people. Each pod at the lodge features a good-sized bed, a sitting room, a green roof with a rooftop cold or hot tub Jacuzzi, and stunning views of the surrounding scenery.

During the rift valley community walks, visitors will be able to walk around the villages or communities next to the lodge with a local guide, giving them the opportunity to interact with the local people, learn about their culture, traditions, history, and way of life, visit their homesteads, banana plantations, and local schools, taste their local dishes, and buy craft items, among other things.
How to access Aramaga Lodge
The lodge is located in western Uganda’s Kabarole area, west of Fort Portal town, and can be reached by both road and air transport. When traveling by road, you will drive from Kampala to Fort Portal, which takes approximately 4 to 5 hours and 15 to 20 minutes to reach the lodge.
To reach Aramaga Lodge by air, arrange a charter flight from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Saaka Airstrip, then drive for approximately 10 minutes.
