Gorilla Leisure Lodge is a recently constructed luxury lodging facility located in the Rushaga gorilla trekking sector of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the south. The lodge is located near the headquarters of Bwindi National Park, about 10 minutes from the gorilla tracking and briefing area.
The lodge is business-friendly and serves as an ideal base for visitors, travelers, and holidaymakers seeking safari adventures and relaxation while exploring the park’s stunning views, soothing breezes, rustling trees, and forest canopy. The lodge is accessible by road from Kampala/Entebbe, which takes approximately 9-10 hours, or by a 1-2 hour flight from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to the nearby Kisoro airstrip, followed by a few minutes of driving to the lodge. Gorilla Leisure Lodge offers 12 luxurious en-suite rooms, including deluxe singles, doubles, and family cottages with views of the forest canopy. The rooms combine traditional African architecture with modern comforts.
Rooms are well-decorated, elevated with a raised platform, and equipped with en suite private facilities such as flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, complimentary bottled water, bathtubs, mosquito nets, flat-screen TVs, hair dryers, free toiletries, white duvets and pillows, extinguishers, and many other amenities.

Bwindi Forest Impenetrable National Park, located in Kanungu district in southern Uganda, is the best and most visited national park. The park is home to many endangered mountain gorillas, with 19 gorilla groups in all. The park covers 330.8 square kilometers. Bwindi National Park has around 600 mountain gorillas, including 19 habituated gorilla families. The park has four sectors: Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma, and Ruhijha, where gorilla trekking takes place.
The lodge is located in Rushaga Sector and is home to five gorillas: Mishaya, Kahungye, Nshongi, Busingye, and Bweza. The Rushaga sector also has two gorilla habituation experience families: Bukingi and Bushaho. Rushaga can be followed while residing at Nkuringo. The Rushaga sector is the best and most frequented among the sectors that make up Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, offering a stunning view of the forest canopy. Gorilla permits in Bwindi are priced at $800. There are more than 786 mountain gorillas in the world.
Approximately half of Uganda’s population lives in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, with the remainder in Mgahinga National Park.
