Kibale Forest Lodge is a mid-range lodging located in Bigodi Village on the Fortportal-Kamwenge route, near Kibale National Park in the Uganda Region. The lodge is located outside the park, making it an ideal site for chimp tracking, and it is surrounded by a beautiful green terrain that overlooks the majestic Rwenzori Range.

The resort offers easy access to Uganda’s three national parks: Semiliki, Mount Rwenzori, and Queen Elizabeth, all with stunning vistas. You can get to the resort by driving from Kampala/Entebbe, which takes around 5-6 hours, or by flying from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese airfield and then being transferred to the lodge.

Kibale Forest Lodge has 8 spacious and comfortable rooms that overlook spectacular views and are decorated in an African traditional manner with natural materials and timber. Cottages are beautifully elevated with raised hardwood platforms, designed and furnished with en-suite private facilities of clean flushing. Room amenities include hot and cold showers, mosquito-netted beds, chairs, complimentary toiletries, bottled water, white pillows and duvets, and wooden tables.

Cottages feature wide sitting rooms, terraces, and wooden individual balconies that overlook the lush green scenery and lakes. Cottages come in a variety of sizes, including single beds for people, double beds for friends or couples, twin and villa bedrooms for families or groups, and prices ranging from $200 a night and more. Rates fluctuate according to season; during peak season, rates are always higher than during the low season.

Kibale Forest Lodge provides many facilities and services, which include an on-site restaurant serving delicious menu items. We offer both traditional and international cuisine to cater to our guests’ preferences. You will appreciate all of the homemade meals stuffed with fruits and vegetables that make Papaya’s Cuisine distinctive. The hotel offers continental/buffet breakfast in the rooms, lunch, and a 3-course supper in the main building, all cooked by well-trained, organized, and skilled chefs.

Kibale Forest National Park is located 65 km south of Fort Portal Tourism City in Western Uganda, on the foothills of Mount Rwenzori. It has an area of 766 square kilometers.

The park is often regarded as the greatest place to see primates and birds. Kibale is home to over 1500 chimps and approximately 5000 chimps worldwide. There are also 13 primate species, a few mammals, and over 300 bird species such as sunbirds, bee-eaters, tawny eagles, grey-headed kingfishers, yellow-billed hornbills, and others.

Chimpanzee tracking and habituation are popular tourist activities in Kibale National Park, which is home to a variety of primates. To track chimpanzees, a permission is required, which costs $200 for non-residents, $150 for foreign residents, and 150,000/= for Ugandans. Habituation costs $250 for non-residents.
