10 days Uganda safari is an outstanding safari experience that takes you to meet the massive Uganda’s primates that is mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable national park, and then chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park as well as searching for the incredible lions, elephants, buffaloes and among many others in the savannah in both Murchison Falls national park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will also visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to trek rhinos giving you the chance to tick off the ‘’Big five’’.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Shoebill stork.
On the first day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you from Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe. And if time allows you will head over to close by Mabamba Swamp and search for the prehistorical looking Shoebill Stork. After the experience drive back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Top of the falls.
After breakfast, set off from Entebbe for your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, that is a scenic drive, along the way you meet the rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, that offers you to so rhino tracking with a specialized guide for a walk to see rhinos. After tracking, you will procced to Murchison with en-route lunch. After lunch drive to Murchison and then upon arrival you will make a stop visit to the impressive of the Murchison Falls. After transfer to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise on the Nile in Murchison falls national park.
After breakfast, set off for the morning game drive to see the thrilling wildlife like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and watching various animals and bird species. After the game drive, you return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will go for the boat cruise to the base of the falls where you will have fascinating spots of the hippos, crocodiles, and various aquatic bird species, and other animal species like elephants, buffaloes along river banks. After return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then drive to Kibale Forest national park through Fort Portal with en-route lunch, you will as well make other stop overs at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment of Lake Albert, and among others. Optional you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk experience to have the unique sighting of some primates and bird species. You will arrive in the late afternoon check for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge you will transfer to Kanyanchu for chimpanzee trekking briefing at the park headquarters with your packed lunch, the park is a home to over 1500 chimpanzees. After briefing you will enter the forest and look for the chimpanzees that takes over 4 hours pending on their location. And once found, you will enjoy one hour in the presence of chimps as they are doing their daily activities like bringing up young ones, sharing food, breastfeeding and others. After one hour return to the starting point and be offered your certificates for participating in chimpanzee tracking and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through crater lakes region. Later drive to your lodge with en-route game viewing, then dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 6: Game drive and Boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Wake up early morning, enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will go for the game drive to see the early risers like buffaloes, elephants, lions and others in the fascinating Kasenyi plains and many more. After return back to the lodge for lunch, after lunch you will go for the boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel, this is where you will see hippos, Nile crocodiles, various bird species, elephants, along the water shores. After drive to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 7: Game drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, that road goes through the park and if you are lucky, you see the various animal species plus bird species along the way. When you arrive into Ishasha you will enjoy spotting famous tree-climbing lions. After lunch you will continue driving to Bwindi with incredible views of rolling hills, terraced hills. Upon arrive, check in enjoy dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park.
After breakfast, with your packed lunch, trekking equipment’s. Your safari guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing about the ruled and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be grouped in various groups of 8 people, and then enter the forest to look for the gorillas. This takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours, and once the gorillas are spotted, you will enjoy one hour in their presence, watching them feed, play, breakfast feed, taking their photos and recording their videos though using the less or no flash cameras. After one hour return to the starting point and be awarded with the certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. You may return to Ishasha sector Queen Elizabeth national park to cut the journey time next day, or return to your lodge in Bwindi for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park and game drive.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then proceed with your journey to Lake Mburo national park. You will arrive during lunch time, enjoy lunch. After lunch you will head the park for a game drive to search for the animla species like zebras, impalas, warthogs, giraffes, buffaloes, and others. After return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge. Depending on the time of your flight, you can either go for an early safari walk, or drive direct to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for the equator experience, then en-route lunch. After lunch, connect to Entebbe where your guide drops you in time for your flight or to your convenient hotel that will bring your safari come to the end.
