7 days Uganda Primate safari is an unforgettable safari through the lush tropical forests and breathtaking landscapes of Uganda, famously known as the ‘’Pearl of Africa’’. This safari is specially designed for the travelers who want to experience Uganda’s incredible diversity of primates while also enjoying scenic beauty, cultural encounters and peaceful nature experiences. The safari takes you to some of the country’s most famous primate destinations including Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe- welcome to Uganda.
On the first day of the safari, upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide who will brief you about the safari. Later be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe to where you will relax after your journey. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast, start on your scenic drive to Kibale National Park that is famously known as the primate capital of East Africa. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside landscapes, rolling hills, tea plantations and among others. Along the way, enjoy your en-route lunch and later proceed with your journey until you arrive to your lodge, check in to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Walk in Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee trekking experience, after enter the forest with the experienced rangers, and walk through the rainforest searching for chimpanzees and alongside other primates like black and white colobus monkeys, and among others.
Once the chimpanzees are located, spend one hour observing them as they feed, communicate, swing through the forest trees and among others. After return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is a community tourism project famous for bird species, butterflies, and monkey species and among others. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast, check out and start on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of Uganda’s most beautiful wildlife parks. Along the way, you will experience and explore crater lakes, rolling hills and scenic savannah landscapes.
In the afternoon, upon arrival check and enjoy lunch, and after go for a game drive through Kasenyi plains where you may spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, warthogs, and many bird species. The park’s rich biodiversity and stunning scenery make it one of the best safari destinations in East Africa. Dinner and overnight stay at your safari lodge.
Day 5: Kazinga channel boat cruise and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is a home to large concentration of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and numerous bird species along the shoreline.
After boat cruise, proceed your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Along the way you will pass through beautiful highlands often referred to as the ‘’Switzerland of Africa’’ because of their terraced hills, and scenic views. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Today is the highlight of your safari and one of the most memorable wildlife experiences in the world. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules to follow during gorilla trekking.
After briefing, enter the forest and start searching for the gorillas with experienced trackers and this take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Along the way, you will experience the beauty of Bwindi Forest filled with birds, butterflies and among others. Once the gorillas are found, spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat, watching the mountain gorillas feed, groom, rest, interact with one another and among others. After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and later dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure.
After breakfast, start on your journey to Entebbe, along the way make a stopover for en-route lunch in Mbarara and another stopover at the equator for photographs, souvenir shopping and refreshments. Proceed to Entebbe international Airport for your departure flight depending on your travel schedule and will mark the end of your unforgettable Uganda Primates safari.
