Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick and transfer to Murchison falls national park.
On the first day of the 8 Days Uganda Safari, your safari guide will pick you early in the morning from any pick location either at Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel in Kampala. He will welcome you and brief you about the 8 days safari. After the briefing you will embark on your journey to Murchison falls national park. Along the way you will have the perfect views with the stopovers for snacks, brief stretches and among others. And once you reach at Ziwa rhino sanctuary
you will go for the amazing rhino trekking that will take you for one hour this is where you will have the perfect experience in the presence of the rhinos and among other wildlife. After the experience you will be transferred to Murchison falls national park, and once you arrive you will be served with lunch. And after lunch you will embark on your journey to Murchison falls national park, you will be transferred to the top of the falls to where you enjoy the perfect views of the waterfalls, enjoying the stunning views of the beautiful landscape, sighting incredible wildlife and among others. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast, check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and go for the morning game drive in the park, this is where you will spot the lions, leopards, antelopes, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, warthogs, giraffes, hyenas, and various bird species and after the experience you will return back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and then transfer for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls this is where you will have the wonderful view of the large numbers of the crocodiles, hippos in water, and watching various acquatic bird species, and watching other various animal species along the water shores like the elephants, Uganda Kobs, and others washing their thirst, the experience is rewarding and fascinating. After the experience you will be transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
On the 3rd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After taking your breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then get ready and transfer to Kibale Forest national park. Along the way you will have the magnificent views of the landscape watching the locals doing their daily activities and later you enjoy your enroute lunch. After lunch you will proceed with your journey until you arrive to Kibale Forest national park. And upon you arrival you will check in your lodge and be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After the breakfast, you will check out from your lodge with your packed lunch and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Kanyanchu tourism centre for the beliefing about the rules and regulations to follow during the chimpanzee trekking by the experienced park rangers and the park guides. After the beliefing you will be grouped in various groups of 6 people and each group will be assigned by the skilled park ranger that is familiar with the park trails. You will explore the forest to look for the chimpanzees, and this takes a period of about 30 minutes to 4 hours or more depending on the location of the chimpanzees. The experience is rewarding in that during chimpanzee trekking you will be impressed with the various biodiversity in the forest that is various plant species, tree species, animal species, birds species and among many others while looking for the chimpanzees.
And once the chimpanzees are found you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the chimpanzees, that is when you will watch the chimpanzees playing, feeding, mothers breast feeding their young ones, mothers grooming their young ones, that is when you will take their pictures and recording their videos. After the experience you will transfer to the starting point and be awarded with the chimpanzee trekking certificates for taking part in chimpanzee trekking. Later you will transfer to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, this is a wonderful drive that takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, while passing through the rolling hills, and the rural villages of the western Uganda. Along the way, you will catch glimpses of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, and the Kasese crater lakes, offering breathtaking views and the photography opportunities. The drive eventually leads you to the entrance of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will begin your exciting adventure exploring the park’s diverse wildlife, like the lions, elephnats, buffaloes, hippos and among others. And once you arrive, you will check in for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
On the 5th day of the 8 Days Uganda Safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park for the early morning game drive to look for the various early risers of the park that includes the waterbucks, leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, Greater kudus, and watching various bird species like Spur-winged Plovers, Fish Eagle, Long tailed cormorants, bee-eaters, Kingfishers, Cattle egrets and among others, in the Kasenyi plains to where you will have the perfect experience, after the game drive you will as well explore the Katwe salt pans to where you will engage in the salt-mining that is such wonderful. After the experience you will transferred back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for the most massive afternoon boat cruise, this takes a period of about 2 to 3 hours on Kazinga channel is a natural channel that connects Lake George to Lake Edward that is well known for the highest concentration of the hippos in Africa, not only the hippos the experience is very enough to offer you the stunning views of the various bird species like African fish eagles, hornbills, cormorants, pied kingfishers, other animal species in the beautiful scenery like elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles. After the experience you will transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
On the 6th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. As you exist you will have the enroute morning game drive through the Ishasha sector and lookout the impressing tree climbing lions, and other early risers that offers you the best moments. After you will embark on your journey to Bwindi. Along the way you will have the enroute lunch, and after lunch you will embark on your journey as the drive takes you through the stunning Kigezi Highlands, with the break taking views of the distant mountains and Lake Edward. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge and be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking experience.
On the 7th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will carry your lunch, and meet your safari guide and he will transfer you to the park’s headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing of the rules and regulations to follow by the experienced park ranger and guides. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with the various gorilla trekking traits. Gorilla trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
During gorilla trekking on this 8 Days Uganda Safari you will be impressed with the diverse spotting of various biodiversity and once the mountain gorillas are spotted you be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas, that is watching them feeding, playing, breastfeeding, mothers grooming their young ones, taking pictures and recording their videos and among others though using less or no flash cameras because flash disrupts the gorillas. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be will receive the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for relaxation at your lodge and later be served with dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure for 8 Days Uganda Safari
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and begin on your journey to Kampala. Along the way you will stop over for lunch in Mbarara and after lunch you will embark on your journey, that is you can make another stopover at the equator to purchase the local crafts, souvenirs and then the traditional snack, and when you arrive in Kampala you will be dropped off either at your preference destination that’s your hotel or at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight that will make your safari come to the end.
