This itinerary presents a distinctive safari experience featuring incredible activities like a Boat Cruise, an exceptional canoeing safari, and a village tour.
Day 1 : Meet & Greet /Transfer to Kanyemba Lodge
Upon your arrival from your international flight at Lusaka airport, you will be greeted by our representative, who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to Kanyemba Lodge. The transfer is a pleasant and exciting journey lasting approximately 3 hours.
Arrive and check in for the next afternoon tea, then head out for an afternoon activity, which may include boating or a sunset cruise. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 2 : Activities at Lower Zambezi Valley
Today will begin with breakfast in the morning, followed by a morning activity that may include a walking safari, angling, canoeing safaris, boating, village walks, banana plantation tours, or sunset cruises, before returning to the lodge for lunch.
Enjoy some relaxation time, followed by afternoon tea, and then partake in the afternoon activities: boating and a sunset cruise. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night’s sleep.
Day 3 : Full Day Game Drive Safari in Lower Zambezi
Enjoy breakfast before embarking on an exploration of the Lower Zambezi National Park with our knowledgeable guides.
Kanyemba Lodge is situated approximately 45km from Lower Zambezi National Park, allowing us to provide full-day game drives for guests who stay with us for at least 3 nights. We leave the lodge early in the morning for a boat ride lasting approximately 1 ½ hours downstream to the base camp of Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ), where you will switch to our open-top game drive vehicle.
The entire day is dedicated to the National Park, where we will explore various loops in search of four of the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard), along with a diverse array of herbivores and birds. After a delightful picnic lunch, you will leisurely make your way back to CLZ to transfer back to the boat for the return journey to the lodge, which will take approximately 2 hours, arriving around 6 pm. Take some time to unwind, and later you can enjoy dinner and retire for the night at your own pace.
Please be aware that the vegetation in the national park provides no shade for our vehicle, so it is advisable to wear a long-sleeved shirt, particularly for individuals with a lighter skin tone. Clothing in neutral colors is necessary. The minimum age required to take part in National Park trips is 12 years.
Day 4: Departure
Today, you will enjoy breakfast, and then, depending on your flight schedule, you will head to Lusaka International Airport.
Game drives in pursuit of four of the Big Five. Certainly, certain activities are seasonal since the lower Zambezi National Park is most suitable for water-based experiences.
