9 Days Best of Zambezi & Luangwa Safari : Exploring the renowned Luangwa Valley for a safari and navigating the Zambezi River in Lower Zambezi National Park are among the most sought-after experiences in Zambia. The winding Luangwa River traverses South Luangwa National Park, which signifies the conclusion of the Great Rift Valley and stands as one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness regions, likely the premier wildlife sanctuary.
The oxbow lagoons, woodlands, and plains of the valley host extensive herds of wildlife, featuring elephants, buffalo, leopards, lions, giraffes, and hippos, along with more than 450 species of birds. Flowing into the Zambezi River, the Luangwa River is situated just below the Lower Zambezi National Park. This park, beautifully framed by a striking escarpment, offers outstanding wildlife viewing opportunities from both the river and the land. It’s a delightful experience to gently glide by a majestic elephant as it feeds.
